DOUGLAS EKMAN

Former ad man Douglas Ekman used his five years of living in Detroit’s Cass Corridor neighborhood as inspiration for his anthology of short stories, “People Live In The Cass Corridor.” He is a former television and radio talk show host and was a contributing comedy writer for Saturday Night Live in its first year.

A short stand up comedy career convinced him show business was no business. Automobile advertising led him back to Detroit where he was Creative Director on the Dodge account during the rebuilding of Chrysler in the early eighties.

Ekman spent his formative years in the Detroit area and currently lives in Chicago where he works as a voice over talent, consultant and free-lance writer and producer.
